Walmart Technical Analysis
The technical analysis of the Walmart stock price chart on 4-hour timeframe shows #S-WMT,H4 is retracing down toward the 200-period moving average MA(200) after hitting all-time high four days ago. We believe the bearish momentum will resume after the price breaches below the lower Donchian bound at 77.46. This level can be used as an entry point for placing a pending order to sell. The stop loss can be placed at 79.86. After placing the order, the stop loss is to be moved every day to the next fractal high indicator, following Parabolic indicator signals. Thus, we are changing the expected profit/loss ratio to the breakeven point. If the price meets the stop loss level (79.86) without reaching the order (77.46), we recommend cancelling the order: the market has undergone internal changes which were not taken into account.
Fundamental Analysis of Stocks - Walmart
Alice Walton sold over $170 million in Walmart stock in last couple of days. Will the Walmart stock price continue retreating?
US based retail and wholesale giant’s market capitalization has grown to about $627.3 billion currently from $343 billion in July 2022. And while management effectiveness has improved as reflected in increases in both Return on Equity (trailing twelve months) and the Return on Assets (ttm) in that period: from 15.53% and 6.31% to 18.53% and 6.95% respectively, the stock valuation has stretched – the stock was trading at P/E (ttm) ratio of 26.97 but the same metric has risen to 40.65 now. This means the stock is expensive currently which is bearish for the stock price. At the same time Alice Walton, a significant shareholder of Walmart Inc., has sold a substantial portion of her holdings in the company on September 17th and 19th, amounting to over $170 million. The sale of substantial portion of her holdings in the company by one of the heirs to the Walmart fortune is bearish for Walmart stock price.
